Hey! At least there was someone watching the video!
Serious - great work, Roy. Well... As always!
Would it be possible to have a picture of the kids with their whips?
Thank you for sharing!
Robby
p.s.
Thank you for the info - "nail knot" is it. I knew there was something different!

MR Roy I'm not sure if you were making whips 13 years ago but the whips that I was talking about in that post look exactly like your black 12 footers, and they are time tested and were worth every penny and more. I have been reading your posts and see that you have been turning your own handle on a lathe. Well sir your handles are phenomenal. I am actually going to be doing some hands on learning sometime in the next week or two. My brother knows that I loved to make nunchaku when I was a kid. He was working for an exotic wood wholesaler that that would sell custom lengths cut to spec. He saved some of the small pieces and brought me a box full of several kinds of hardwood stock. Some of it he called tiger wood which is another name for Goncalo.I had been through Florida and found a country and western store that sold whips but something was very strange about these whips that I had never seen before. It was the first time that I had ever seen a nylon bullwhip. I had to have one and I loved it and it is still cracking great to this day and that was 13 yrs ago. Well since then I have brought the family on vacation to Disney and Universal studios and on both trips while everyone else was spending on souvenirs I just held on to my money for trip home and made sure to stop for fuel right next to my favorite store in Florida. Thank GOD for those Florida Crackers out of 6 whips every one of them are still great

Johnny, thank you very much. You are correct, in FL it is rather common to find very nice nylon whips sold in stores or in the trucks of traveling salesmen, being that it's a part of our culture.
I love the Goncalo(Tiger Wood) since is by far the easiest wood to turn. I can't wait to see what you do with it

He died for me, I'll live for him
