This is the Gallery of "Wolf Creek Whips" - Rachel McCollough

This new Gallery replaces the former "Masters Gallery", which will work from now on as pure archive. Here you will find not only the work and art from folks who sell whips, but also from folks, who create their whips out of pure passion. And we have an additional gallery. It is called "The Gallery - Making of".

Rachel, that's fascinating. Would I be right in thinking that one cracks a whip like this using two hands?

Mr. Robert, Thank you! Last year I saw a video of this gentleman driving his oxen. He stood near the shoulder while pulling a wagon and using one hand to apply the whip very gently to the offside ox. Being on a long handle, the thong swings up over the back of the near ox and can touch the off ox on the lower leg. It is applied very gently.

How cool! I haven't seen a team of anything work for so long. They are so awesome to watch though.

Rachel, my greatest compliments to your work!
The new thong that you've made looks fantastic and it's very, very impressive how versatile your skillset is!

All the best

Thanks, Roy! Next one will have a properly fitted fall, that one was a purpose-serving fix...

As long as my knife was sharp it was not so bad. If the knife started towards dull then yessir it would get a bit tough. The skiving was....... :D

A belt sander works in a pinch for skiving. Not the best, but an option when you may lack tools.
