Mr. Robert, Thank you! Last year I saw a video of this gentleman driving his oxen. He stood near the shoulder while pulling a wagon and using one hand to apply the whip very gently to the offside ox. Being on a long handle, the thong swings up over the back of the near ox and can touch the off ox on the lower leg. It is applied very gently.

Thanks, Roy! Next one will have a properly fitted fall, that one was a purpose-serving fix...

As long as my knife was sharp it was not so bad. If the knife started towards dull then yessir it would get a bit tough. The skiving was....... :D
