This is the Gallery of "Wolf Creek Whips" - Rachel McCollough

This new Gallery replaces the former "Masters Gallery", which will work from now on as pure archive. Here you will find not only the work and art from folks who sell whips, but also from folks, who create their whips out of pure passion. And we have an additional gallery. It is called "The Gallery - Making of".

Mr. Robert you're right, no matter the direction of the photo, that Mississippi light just kept making it look darker!

Thank you very much, Tyler!

No. Again, no. Maybe I did something to point you into a certain direction. But you deserve all the credit, Rachel. You made the handle. You did the braiding. This whip is all your wonderful work. I am the one who's deeply honored that this whip has my name.

Robby, thank you, I appreciate that very much :)
You've surely provided the base for many of us to learn how to make whips in a quality manner, and a solid foundation for proper whipcracking skills, too.

You've certainly made that possible, through building the Whip Basics Community. A good firm and Quality foundation.

Robert, ah i just saw that Rachel mentioned it's acid dark brown. I absolutely love that color and the wax makes it look darker then it already is too.

Thanks for the explanation Rachel. I think I understand what you mean but I've never heard of the 'Snelling' method. When you next have time from your tomatoes and whip orders, I'd be very interested in seeing a more detailed breakdown of that tip and fall hitch.

@ Rachel McCollough:

The Amper Style whip that you have made looks fantastic !!!
The the shape and the surface of the wood looks very smooth (I still cant belive your doing the handle by hand !!!) and the plating and taper of the thong looks absolutely perfect.
My greatest compliments to your work Madam !!!

All the best

Roger, no problem, next cow whip I make I will take photos unless I find some I've already taken! If you search youtube for "how to tie a fall on a cow whip" it should show how to tie the Snelling knot variation. I think there's as many variations as there are cow whips :)

Mario, thank you very much!

Thank you very much, Ben! I will say, the harder wood is easier to get a better finish on, and the Tung Oil really evens everything out for a nice looking and natural finish without showing as shiny.

Thank you, Evan!

Tyler, thanks, I really liked this darker handle!

Ron thank you, I've not had the opportunity yet- but it waves good and rolls straight so I bet it'll be alright. It has a normal lively feel I think.
