Here's a Whip I've just finished for the owner of 'A handful of hats' circus group.
He hasn't seen it yet but hopefully he will like the handle design.

It's 8ft 16 plait with two bellies and a twisted tapered core

I like the handle and ferrule. I am not good enough to see if the non-uniform (right word ?) taper can be managed with a good rolling ?
Today is a good day

I too have a problem with photos not representing the actual taper of a whip.

The shadows play havoc with the eyes, and makes it look uneven and even places where hinging is occurring... direct natural lighting helps some.

Nicely done Ross!
Taking pic from a black whip is always hard especially indoors.

My customer order is all finished and ready to post.
It's 6ft long with two bellies and a twisted tapered core, the customers name is Karen so I did a little added extra as a surprise for her :)

My first stockwhip build, 5ft thong and I recycled an old broom handle & still have enough left to make a partner for it in reverse colours :)

Nice job. It looks like it will crack well.
Is the handle bare wood? It might age nicely and darken with hand oils for an antique patina.
