Robert - that's just the belly. I went to two colors so I can see the strands more easily in order to keep things straight and tight. It's actually silver grey.
Roger - I hope to get the third belly done today and start working on the overlay tomorrow.

I know, but my usual pattern of paracord, tape, sinew, more tape, and then next layer does translate to super heavy.

Craig, that sky is quite spectacular! And I think you might just be converting me (by slow stages) to like bright colours more than I have. (I can also appreciate that having a brightly-coloured whip in a climate like yours would look far better, and more natural, than it would here, where so much is grey or brown.)
