Glad to be a part of this project. I'm really looking forward to seeing the whip James is making for me :D

Here are a few pics of what I'm building (these first three are older pics from a previous build but the process remains the same):

This is the start of all my Bulls

Those colors will make the whip really stand out.
The transition looks very nice.

Those are really some fantastic colors. Your transition is very stiff, too. I recently started using the door knob method as well and I definitely like the results.
If I can't run fast, I'll make slow look impressive.

Where can I find information on how to start the positing like that? Or at least, what do you call it?

Jesse, if you use the search tool just look for "square start".
You should find it I think. :)

Positing=plaiting I think!

Square start is also in Ron Edward's book How to Make Whips too, I believe.

Jesse - this is Bert's tutorial that I use. I recommend practicing it a few times before doing it for real. My first few times I ended up with a gap on the top back side.

That should indeed say plaiting. I used my phone to type it and suffered the autocorrect failure typical of phone usage. Thanks for hooking me up with the tutorial though.

Jesse - look at my latest pics in Arizona Whips and you can see how the stands end up off centered left and right when doing the square start. It will help you plan.

Need to look into the square start myself, I like the heel knot but I'd love to try a whip without one, it would be super sleek looking.
