Efren, I am growing fond of Jatoba. It does tear up my sinuses, so I always wear a mask when near it.

Howdy Whip Basics. The cows have been keeping me busy lately but I managed to finish this set over the past week. One is 8ft 12 plait and the other is 10ft 16 plait. Both are rust cord with a black chevron, and both have Goncalo handles. These are going to a cattle rancher in South Dakota

Now that's a beautiful pair of whips right there, that black really looks sharp with the rust. Really nice work, Roy!

Roy, excellent.
I like the patina the wax seems to have created.
This is not a pun, but it looks rustic.

That's a nice pair, but that 10ft is a beast!

Thank y'all very much. Ron I agree, no cord color looks more rustic than the rust

Roy - awesome pair. Your backdrop for the picture is perfect.

Roy, that's a very fine pair - and I love the rust and black! (Erik, I have one of Roy's 10-footers: it is a beast! A very fine beast!)

They look great Roy! But.... We're supposed to believe that Ron made a pun but didn't intend to...?

Good work, Roy. As always. Those whips seem to scream: Crack me! One thing - the whip in the background has some black "collar" around the twisted area. Is this something special or does it only look like. Sorry if I'm nitpicky, but I'm used to study pictures, instead only to look at them. So that black thingie cought my attention :)

Black thing around the collar? I see dark veins running through the wood on that one handle, which is super neat...by the way. Maybe that is what you see?

The fall is black...maybe the fall knot?

Jessie, I think he's talking about the black "whipping" (?) just before the fall.

Looks to me like a black fall tied on to match the black accent, I think, Robby.

Sorry if I answered out of turn, I know Roy is working cows prepping for shipping this week so it may be a bit before he's back online. :)

I love that set! I like how some colors kind of look worn out of the wax like that.
