Here's the finished snake whip.
8 ft.,16 plait, 2 bellies, weighted TT core, purpleheart heel piece with a Spanish ring knot for accent. English eye fall hitch, double ended, weighted fall. It really darkened up with waxing, I hope it lightens up some with wear.

The gold will lighten a little and the Purple heart will darken a good bit over time, increasing the contrast. This is very well done, Mark. It is beautiful and it looks very well balanced.

Thanks Jyri and Rachel. The cord lightened a bit overnight as it dried.

Mark, it looks very good.
The different plaiting really works well.
Be proud.
How does it crack?

Thanks Herb and Ron. I haven't cracked it yet. I'm trying to find a place that is not just dead grass and dirt to try it out on.

Thanks Robert.
Ron, I finally found a spot of grass at the park and gave it a few cracks. It seems to roll out nicely and cracked easily enough, but I need to shorten the fall and cracker a bit, I think.

That's easy as pie with an English eye.
