ADDENDUM: I have considered a GoFundMe. Has anyone done one of these? This might take a little work, but might be worth the extra donations?

Jessie, Go Fund Me also takes a cut. I'm not sure how much or if it's less than PayPal though.

Edit: When you create a GoFundMe account, a WePay account is automatically created for you during the sign-up process so that you can begin receiving donations immediately. The payment processing fee is 2.9% + $0.30 per donation. This is in addition to GoFundMe's 5% fee per donation. Total fees are 7.9% + $0.30 per donation.

So I would say we safe that money and add it to the shelter donation, right? :)

I wouldn't recommend any crowdsourcing websites purely because they take a cut of the money (and that cut adds up!)

I think having a paypal is probably the best choice! What's the cut off date for donations?

Whatever you all want. I just figured the Gofundme would bring in more outside donations other than what we get within the forum, in that case 30 cents ins't a spit in the bucket. It also looks like we are going to have a lot of whips, if we have so many whips, the draw for competitive donations would be higher. No biggie.

I don't know what the cut off date is. A week before Meet and Greet? Robby? Robby?

Oh, and, is this thread public? The other campaigns were public.

Ah that is true. Just remember, it's $0.30 PLUS 7.9% of what is given, which is quite a bit actually :O (For every $100 donated $8.20 goes to Gofundme).
If you think it's worth it for the more public site though, go for it! :D

Youcaring.com is completely free. They ask people who donate if they would like to add a dollar to keep the website running. Not sure if this helps.

Thanks Jesse, I'll just see how it goes. It isn't universally popular, so It might just be a no go. No worries.

They started fairly recently, but everything I've read points to them being a great way to raise money.

Can I just confirm whether this Paypal account is for the tickets for the raffle or a general donation spot for the dog shelter? When I post this up on my FB pages I want to be clear.

Sir Roger, I believe posting on FB is only inviting problems from outside the family.
Usually, if I'm correct, it's only for members on WB to participate.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, Robby.

Nothing done yet Ron. Will wait for clarification. Certainly don't want to create problems for this important cause.

We are waiting on clarification from Robby on outside participation.
So, don't post anything on FB or elsewhere until further information is forth coming.
