Well, here's one of my favorites ;) It's from Australia. A 7 ft. Bullwhip, all roo, 16 plait and a silver/chrome ferrule. I never ordered this one. I never bought it. I even didn't know that I'll get it. The story behind this beautiful whip is this...

One day - it was saturday and I was sleeping deep and peaceful like a baby, Claudia came to me and woke me up. "Hey Robby" she said. "There's a post man who has something for you. It's from Australia." I was totally confused and irritated. I had absolutely no idea what this could be. So I went out and received that package. From Australia.

I opened it and it was one of the best whips I ever handled. If not the best. It was from the Master himself - from Simon Martin. It was a present from him. We were about to start the production on Whip Basics Vol. IV, and Simon knew about it. So he decided to make me a whip for the shooting. And, well, some day this wonderful present came to me. And it will never leave my home. And that is what it looks today. The picture was taken 10 minutes ago...

When you look at Vol. IV, you'll see that the whip's very much lighter, then. It was very new. In the meantime it's broken in so beautiful and it is like a silk scarf. A wonderful piece of art and craftsmanship. And I'll honor it.

"Like a silk scarf" sounds like something to aim for. Also pretty, simple and functional is always a good combination.

Seriously, not as an act of asskissing, I have thought of making and sending a whip to you. Not for review, not for getting praises or extra points. Just as a thank you for all the efforts and soul. I will do that as an act of raising my glass of Rauchbier to you.

Not now and not next month, but it's coming your way. Finnish made whips are probably not something all whip enthusiasts have :)

That certainly is a beauty. I recognize it from both the DVD and the random whip handles that show at the top left corner of this website.
That's a great story to go with it. I'm even more pleased to Simon on the forum now than I already was.

A very nice whip indeed, I love the color and pattern on the handle, is it birdseye? a 7 foot whip also happens to be my favorite length.

@Devin
Yep, it's a 7 footer. In my opinion the best length for a whip.
And - again - yes, it's the famous bird's eye. My favorite handle pattern :)

@Pokkis
Thank you, Sir. I know exactly what you mean.
So I'll raise my glass of tea to you, then!
