That's some good practice, Charlie. Still a little jerky, but you seem to be aware of it. For instance you don't always bring your arm up to 12 o'clock in the CC, but you do enough that I think you know you need to, it just isn't completely natural yet.

Definitely good stuff.

I was finally able to get in some practice today to make up for some lost time. No video because my phone was pretty much out of juice. If I can't get one soon, I'll make a video over the weekend or so and upload it just so you guys can see where I am so far.

Today's the last day of Combo 3.
If possible I will post a comparison video of my progress today as well.

We will start Combo 4 tomorrow (Dec. 15th thru Dec. 24th)

This will be putting all the combinations together.
The underhand crack into the circus crack into the opposite horizontal crack (side arm) into the horizontal crack (overhead).

Every one is progressing nicely and you should be very proud of yourselves.

Almost for got to post today, something clicked and the opposite horizontal was easy today...at first. My timing went a bit dikky after that.

I was in the park and not quite able to sink into a zen feeling. The voices you can hear are two folk watching me, lovely people a mum and her son and I got to chat in Spanish for a little bit, a rare treat here. All the same it's a little different with eyes on me.

Feels like its not far off but I want to ease off on power to find the timing better.

It was wet and mostly drizzle so it was stick practice today.
I'm sure if anyone saw me and had no idea of what I was doing it might look like
I was trying to kill flies or something. :)

Charlie, that's look a whole lot better.
I do believe you are on the right path.
The same thing that you experience and and that "click" moment can be transferred to any other crack. I think whip cracking is all about the form and the timing in that form.

That makes sense to me, or at least its starting to!

Hey everyone, sorry for being silent these past few days. I was on night shift and my sleep schedule was messing with me. I did manage to get some practice in while I was in Canada. I'll see if I can get some video posted tomorrow.

Hey Bob, I worked the night shift in Houston and I know how it can mess up a sleep schedule.
I'm glad you got some practice in any way.

I got in a decent session today, not quite full length though. :-( My whip got a knot in its cracker, and I am kind of picky about things like that, and it was too dark to untie. I took it home and had to knot it off cut off the tip to make a new fluffy part. But I think I now need to make some spare crackers to have on hand.

I knew this would happen sooner or later.

Charlie, that's definitely coming along!

Ron, I quite agree: it's all about form and timing.

Tristan, I always carry a bunch of spare crackers, at least one spare fall, a fid, a Swiss Army knife - and my reading glasses, to be sure I can see the tangle I'm trying to undo! And if it's dark, a small torch as well.... All part of my 'standard kit'.

Today is still another stick day.
I am falling so far behind. :(

Ron you were looking pretty good before I doubt it'll take you long once the sun is shining, I understand the itch to go and play though.

Didn't train myself today I took my whips to meet my friends but we got chatting, its been about two years since I have seen them. Will be training tomorrow, weather permitting.

@ Ron May:
(about post #742)

Thank you very much Ron but in that case my wife was holding the camera !!!
Your day one video of combo #3 looks very good - well done !!!

@ Charlie Carpenter:

Welcome to the 10/10 challenge Charlie !!!
The videos that you've posted look great - thank you very much for sharing !!!
I've noticed that you tend to bring the handle of the whip to the 11 o'clock or 10 o'clock position instead of the 12 o'clock position when you're doing the circus crack.

I've had many "handle only" practice sessions during the last couple of days.
The few practice sessions with a whip went fine (at least the fealt so to me).

Putting all previous combos together into one combo (combo #4) is still challenging for me but its getting better :)

All the best
Ben

Ben, it's really good to see you back to practicing again.
I have yet to be able to do combo 4 with a whip due to weather, but it's supposed to be clearing up in a day or so.
I am so looking forward to that.

How long are housewhips usually? Aren't they around 3 or 4 feet? I suppose one could get a BDSM whip, but I'd rather just make one for indoor practice.

I went out to practice today, but we have a cold front blowing in and it was simply too windy to get much done. I was out at the park for about 2 minutes before I realized it was going to be absolutely useless.
