Yesterday was "stick" practice because of the rain.
Tristan, you can always use the "stick" method for practice when the weather
won't cooperate. It really does help.
Bob, the report of a 10 footer will sure garner some attention that's for sure.

"stick" I'm intrigued

Charlie, you use a "handle" like object even a "stick" and practice like you normally would but with out an actual whip.

You focus on form.
It totally works.

Ron, the sound isn't much louder, but it seems to last longer.

Interesting Ron, whilst in circus school we were handed a study, it showed that visualisation and observation of good technique were almost as effective as practice itself. In Aerial the physically demanding nature of the exercise makes this a very useful tool.
I might still have the paper in my notes back at home I'll see if I can dig it out when I return.
I didn't film today as I feel I am still processing changes suggested before, had a couple of very nice cracks though at one point minimal force was popping as loud as medium. I gave up on trying to watch the whip and let it tell me when things were improving. The grip is feeling more natural now, one less thing to think about

Charlie, that sounds like progress to me.

Good going.

I have to admit I'm going to have to take a break of the 10/10 challenge for December.
After standing outside all day at the Christmas market in the cold I find it impossible to find the will and energy to go outside to do some cracking.
I'll be back after the year has changed though and I'll be following this thread!

Here's my video for Combo 3 for day 1 (actually day 2).
It's still awkward going from side arm to overhead and ending in a slightly upward movement to keep the thong on the horizontal plane.
But it's getting there.

Looks great, Ron. A little bit less power on the second crack. Aside of that...you're good to go!

Lookin' good Ron, nice to put a face to a name too
Today's efforts where hampered somewhat by gusty wind, not from me I hasten to add but it feels like there is progress. I have been trying flicks as well, the horizontal is ok but the de longis style vertical flick is tricky with such a stiff whip, probably more to do with me though.
I didn't bring my favorite whip with me on purpose, to force me to use and break in the other two. It will be interesting to see if it is easier with that whip on my return.

I made it out to practice tonight and last night. Unfortunately I have no video footage. The old soccer stand I put my phone on has been removed, so I need to find another way to mount my phone. I'm not even sure if I can tie it to any branches since I think the phone would just flop or fall from the wee little branchlings.
I might just buy a broom handle or something to stick in the ground to tie my phone to...
Ron, I can sympathize with the transition catching you there. From how I feel I imagine I'm doing something similar. But not a bad start. :-)
Tonight after cracking longer to make up for the lost day or two, from the rain, I started to get worn out, which was good because it forced me to slow down and work on my form itself.
Erik, I hope you still check in with your feedback from time to time. Look forward to seeing you in here again in 2017!

Today was stick practice due to the drizzle.
Perhaps tomorrow will be better.
Tristan a good rubber band and a broom handle will work fine I believe.

I forgot to post yesterday but I did practice. A bit frustrating seemed to take a step back especially targeting. I stuck with it and it was better by the end. I'll take another video today and post again later

Today is going to be another stick practice day for me.
It's supposed to warm and clear up by Sunday where it will get up to the lower 80sF.
Carlie, I think digressive binding like Rachel has talked about is a good way to go.

Ron, I would also suggest adding just a little more pause on the first crack, to just give the whip an extra second the come up into alignment. Also, allowing the whip to drop a little more during your second crack with tighten that loop up. Excellent work!
