Yessir Roger, that so far has been the method that has served me best.
Finished view, 6' 16 plait 2 belly Steer Whip in black and silver with a Twisted English Eye. Walnut oiled grip. Loaded Twisted Taper fall and tapered sinew cracker.

Rachel, another great looking whip.
The mixture of a checkered / barber pole handle is very appealing !
I really like the concept of the "Steer" whip. Half cow whip, half bull whip.
Very unique.

I think its hard to pull off black and white without it being overpowering but you have and in grand style. Gorgeous whip, well done.

Very nice, the wooden knob into checkerboard looks great. It looks very tight and the taper is very precise. Another masterpiece.

Very solid and straight looking whip! Taper on taper on taper, I'm sure it cracks like a dream! Lot of effort put into it, I'm sure the receiving end will enjoy it very much.
The wooden knob style is not my cup of tea, but for what it is it's looking great!

Yeah Rachel, how does it crack?
It looks like it would crack it's self just sitting there.

Thank y'all very much my friends,
Ron it cracked well the few test cracks I did before it was boxed. It had a very good rollout from core, through each belly stage until the finish point. I was very pleased with the rollout of the bellies on this whip.

Very striking and great pattern. Your taper is something for the rest of us to aim for. Lovely!

Rachel - the twisted parts - is that gutted paracord? Did a small trial yesterday with twisting gutted - what can i say .... the result did not look anyway near what you have - and thats the positive way of saying it :-)

I love it Rachel! That knob looks so comfortable, and the idea of a twisted tapered fall is intriguing!

Thank you very much, Tyler! The Twisted Tapered fall is easy enough to make, and just as easy to load with weight, too. I like it for the weighted line as it is completely, positively enclosed.

This is not a recent whip build, but it found a home in Alabama.
What I wanted to show was a new feature on my cow whips.
The difference in color of the whip and fall is the fall has not yet been waxed
Many times I will double a strand of paracord for extra weight in the fall. I really like a quick change cracker loop as well. So here's the two combined. If you'd rather have the straight tie on cracker then cut off the loop and burn, tie on your cracker.

....and, these could be weighted, as it is a doubled strand. They tie on the same.

As usual my phone isn't cooperating.
Meant to say.
This helps prevent a fly-off cracker, too.
