Thank you, Sven and Brandon. I honestly don't think it's a lack of strands. I just don't get it even on the wrap. One side will be gappy and the other side will be crowded.

Finally got a break between work, races, scouts, and classes to finish the overlay. I'll get the knot foundations done tonight so I can do the knots and get it waxed and shipped before I take off for Christmas break.

It sure is stiff, but that will change some when I cram it into the turkey roaster.

I had a couple of whips that stiff when I was playing around with different ways of binding the bellies. They loosened a bit with use. The whip looks great. So does the kilt, wish I had the legs and the nerve to wear one:)

Jeez Craig, my 6ft whips tend to be way too stiff but this is even stiffer than those :O I look forward to see how this cracks!

I can tell you what will happen... In the beginning it will be a pain in the ass because it is sooooo stiff. But when it starts to break in, you will notice this: There is a whole lot of mass in the beginning of this whip. That means that you will need a certain amount of power to set it in motion. But then the diameter becomes smaller and smaller. And the energy will remain the same. That means that this whip will speed up enormously by itself. In other words: As soon as it is broken in, it will crack like a dream! The fact that the bow the thong is making, tells me that the binding is very well made and absolutely consistent over its whole length. Good work, Frank. Really good work!

That whip is an absolute beast! Well done, Craig.
I'll give it a try, Dad, but it's going to be really hard...kind of like trying to saw something in half using a banana.

Thank you, Robby. I hope it pleases the final owner. ;) It's drying now so I just need to put on the cracker and get it in the mail.

Ethan - not really. I've gotten used to pulling each strand like it owes me money. Most of my recent whips started out this stiff, but then went limp in the break in. I suspect it was the core separating at the transition. I don't seem to have that problem with Frankenwhip since the core is epoxied to the handle.

Thank you, Scott, Ron, and Rachel. I'll try to weigh this one before I mail it. I suspect it's even heavier than the last.

Drying.

Thanks, Ron.

Waxed dried and it turned into a riding crop. I gave it a few test cracks, but it was getting too dirty in the dry Arizona grass, so I stopped. It's going to need some serious breaking in. Oh, and it weighs 990 grams or 2 lbs, 3oz.

Good grief, Craig! I hope the new owner is built like Arnold Schwarzenegger! He'll need to be, to break that in! But - wow!
