About the same. It needs breaking in, though. The last half is a little too rigid.

Maybe a stupid question, but does nylonwhips need the same type of break in as leatherwhips or is there a different there ?

Jyri - two bellies and an overlay. Also six total sinew wraps and six layers of hockey tape.

Flemming - I've never used a leather whip, but I'm guessing it would be similar.

Craig how do you do your binding? How far and witch style? If i do lots and lots of binding it efects the flow but yours seem to work nicely.

Jyri - over every layer I do a flat continuous wrap that goes out about half way on the core and completely covers each belly. Then I do an X pattern of four telescoping layers over the flat wraps.

I haven't made a new whip in a while. I made a quick one for my daughter's teacher, but didn't post pics as it was pretty standard. I need to make a new Frankenwhip for Robby, but I haven't started yet and there is a very good reason.

As I'm sure most of you realize, if you try to make a whip with a bad mind/pissy attitude, the whip will come out as crap. I need to get my head right first before I try to make another whip. No, there's no great drama or anything in my life, just a lot of stuff going on that is clouding my thinking. I am scheduled to have a four day weekend this week and am hoping that I will be able to settle down enough to slowly and deliberately start working on my next Frankenwhip without creating a rushed piece of garbage.

Thanks, Matt.

Finally got off my duff and started the next Frankenwhip. Pieces cut and epoxied.

Thank you.

I pulled on the core last night and it popped apart. So I crammed in more epoxy and let it set overnight. Now it's strong enough to hold together when I pull as hard as I can. I did a better job cutting and sanding the wire rope so that it went inside the gutted rope much easier. Used a ton of hockey tape to smooth out the junction.
