I love that Jatoba, it really sands nice too. Good wood. The Tung oil works really well on it.

Thanks, Tyler, I would say no but it does have some larger pores. It's one of the toughest woods, as well as lower risk of rot or decay. It sands quite smooth for a good finish with oil, and that's by hand up to 400 grit. On a lathe it would be much smoother, I believe.

Thanks Efren! I was particularly fond of that piece of Jatoba, it is nicely figured and good color.
