That looks great Rachel! And Efren, I believe the appropriate expression is "Holy Cowwhip!"

I think my whip, that you made will get a sister soon :D
That looks amazing Rachel. And since I own a piece of your work, I know it doesn´t only look great. Very nice!

While the handles are not as refined as I'd prefer,
Here's the finished whip, 6' 12 plait in silver and black, 14" handcut ash handle.

And another 6' 12 plait in electric blue, imperial red, and stars n' stripes, all paracord from Whip Nation.
14" handcut ash handle with gray wash.

They're both great, but the one on top is my favorite. Is that a different species of ash or did you stain it?

What Tyler said. That silver and black one looks really cool.

Last winter I got to hold one of your whips (couldn't crack it much because my arm was and is super messed up) and took a very close look. One can look at the photos and go "those handles look really cool for something made by hand" and "can't spot the drop points", but I guarantee it's all way more than the photos suggest.

Thank you, Ron, I liked the black handle with the black and silver too!

Jessie, thanks!

Tyler, thank you, and yessir I stained it- artist's oil paint, thinned down with turpentine. Sealed with Tung oil.

Pokkis I sure hope your arm gets better.
Thank you, you've seen one in person....you can pose a whip for a picture and not show its flaws but a whip in hand doesn't lie. Thank you!

Here's the start of an upcoming simple 6' 12 plait cow whip. This is the 4 strand Twisted Taper core. As tight as I can get it.

That's great Rachel- I still think it's crazy how tight you get those, and I'm a little worried that you'll rip a hole in the space time continuum. Just sayin' :P

:D weeeell I grew up watching Star Trek: The Next Generation....
And John Wayne....
So you just never know ;) ;)

Thanks, Tyler!
I like the body and movement it seems to add. What do you think of what it would add to a whip, to have this type of core so tight, versus other types of cores?
This is where I look forward to learning much more!
