I really don't give AW much mind one way or another.
His way is not my way and never will be.

Each to his own.

Good, bad or indifferent, you will get an honest review from Robby.

Adam does not bind his Whips at all. He has no concept of breaking in. I've cracked 3 of his Whips and to me, they were worthless.

Craig, I think we always learn far more from our failures than from our successes. I've found that accepting and digesting (intelligent) criticism is the key to learning.

For me, life is far more about learning than about succeeding. 'Learning' involves a never-ending journey. 'Success' is just a snapshot of one moment along the road, seen against the background of where one has come from....

I love the way the conversations are going on, here. Everybody is straight but respectful. That is exactly what I always was looking for. You show that it is possible to communicate online in a respectful and friendly way!

Jesse - we can do that. I won‘t promise any video, but if you are interested in my opinion on your work, I will give you my honest thoughts on it.

I love that the whip of Lucy got to you Robby!

In terms of the "shitty whip makers"...I don't know, it might be a bit too much only because naming and shaming is a permanent thing - even if the whip maker improves, they would never be able to recover since people would find that video and therefore condemn that maker.
It might be better to say stuff like "this is a whip made by *this maker* on the *date*." and stuff like that to show that that was the skill of the maker at the time of recording?

Thanks for the video. Very nice whip she is! She flowa great. Congrats to Jessie for the whip and to Mr. Robert for swapping it and to Robby for the wonderfull video.

Any gesture will do except the middle finger probably. Merry Christmas.

About the next video series, I'd stick to facts as a reverse whip examination will turn out.
And leave the fact if people want to buy from that maker to the customer him/her self.
I am also a bit concerned as Sparky pointed out. A bad name is earned very fast, getting rid of it is very difficult.

On the other hand, if someone sells a whip, then they know what the sell. If it's a shitty whip, people should know before spending their hard earned cash.
Unless it's cost is equal to it's quality.

It's like Holy Oak, it's their own reputation that's on the line. If you want to be a good whipmaker, then only sell whips that are not shitty.

That being said, I do look forward to Robby's next vid and I trust Robby will be honest and faithfull to the facts.

I think I'm going to steal this and post it on facebook. :)

Honestly, there are a lot of industries and trades where manufacturers send in their products to magazines or TV shows for a formal review and the reviewer just destroys them. The key is that the good manufacturers go back and fix the problems.

Oh, and I think the correct hand sign for Christmas is both hands held palm to palm as if in prayer. :p

On the few videos that I've watched of him I've come to the belief that his method of whip cracking is not standard. He flings his arms around so fast that binding would just get in his way. He could get by with extension cords.

Us mere mortals need binding.

Thanks for the compliment, Craig - I appreciate it - but please don't attribute it to me by name. I'd prefer never to have my name on Facebook, even obliquely - for a whole host of reasons.

That is a very special whip and I am happy to see it in Robby's hands. Great whip Jessie and thank you Robby for the video.
Also, thank you Mr Robert for your generosity in getting that whip to Robby.
The up coming "Shitty Whip Maker" video sounds interesting. It will surely ruffle some feathers

Jessie, that's what I thought. I don't know what I was expecting from his review, but total dislike was not it.

Robby, I wasn't really expecting a video, just honest thoughts. Places I can improve, things that are good as they are, all of that. I'll start working on it, and I'll let you know when it's done.

I seem to remember him handling one of Bobbi Holyoak whips the year she had a whip stolen at comic con or whatever she does. He downright hated hers too. I doubt he looks st a whip and objectively sees it's attributes applied to its different uses. If he can't swing it like an ape. He isn't going to like it. He simply doesn't know better and can't express himself any other way. Who got your raffle whip? I guarantee you will get a better. Moree unbiased , and worthy opinion from them than you would ever get from the likes of Adam Winrich. I'm sure he is a very nice man, but he is no teacher.

Remember that video that someone posted a year or two ago of some whip cracking contest at a rodeo? They were all trying their hardest to see if they could fling the whips so hard that they would break apart. Looked like their whips were so limp that they had to whip their arms instead? I imagine those people learned at the altar of AW.

Right. If a whip cracks itself, it's a good whip. If you have to resign yourself to one day having your shoulders, hands, back give out, you are doing it wrong. In an interview with Adam, he discusses just that and knows his body will retaliate the abuse it's getting now. Point being, if your whip cracks itself, it's built with weight, binding, and care. That whip will fight a violent cracker. It won't crack until its treated right, it will fling back into the face of the abuser and cause injuries, etc. Think about your first really nice whip, even if it wasn't up to professional standards. After you learned to calm down and stop flinging it around, it started working with you. An unbound, 3 hour whip HAS to be forced to do what you want.
Adam wants a rope on a stick because a rope has no life of its own, has no personality, therefore made to be used and abused. It has to do what Adam wants because Adam has to be in control. Adam is a wildly talented individual and incredible mathematician, but he is no whipmaker and neither is his wife. He's a celebrity that can braid paracord. It's all about the name and that is all that man has.

It always bugs me when I see videos of people cracking a whip by doing these violent arm movements. I can do that with a towel ferchrisakes. It shows nothing. :/

Sir Roger, as does seeing a video or live action of someone muscling a whip I made for them. It makes me cringe in stereo with the crack.
It's like shoving a nail through my heart.
