So... Overlay is done but I am not happy with it.. 1. I can see my strand dropping..(Arrrrgh!!!) 2. The seam.. It's kind of straight...but it is in wrong place! It rolls straight but I am thinking about taking it apart.. Some times I am happy that I can do stuff in nightshifts.. Buuut times when I wake up and look what I have done.. It is not joke that you function like drunk when staying up all night

Jyri, from the photo it looks good.
I can't see the entire whip but the taper looks ok.
Maybe if you roll it a bit more, that might help some.
If you are going to wax it, rolling it while it's still hot will also help.
Make sure you have a clean surface and a place where you won't
mind residual wax left behind where you roll it.
It also looks like your fall hitch is good too.
Let us know how it cracks.
Nice job.
Ron

It's ok if you disagree with me.
I can't force you to be right.

I gave it some light craking and it behaved pretty nicely! Sorry for bad cracking, haven't used whip this long!

Jyri, it looks liken it has a very good taper. The only drop I see is where I'm guessing you went from 6 to 4. One thing you can do to help that when you make your next one or redo that one, is to pull your core strand/strands. If you have the whip in a vise or on a hook, you can pull the core a little bit, which will help to relax the uneven tension from the plaiting.
Now and then we had a hope that if we lived and were good, God would permit us to be pirates.

Jyri, thanks for the video.
I'm curious though, how do you drop strands in the overlay?
Not as criticism! I'm would just like to know.
The only drop I see is also the 6-4 drop, but the rest of the thong looks good in the picture. Not that I'm and expert or anything, but that's my opinion.
It seems to flow pretty and has a nice taper to it.
