This is the Gallery of "Wolf Creek Whips" - Rachel McCollough

This new Gallery replaces the former "Masters Gallery", which will work from now on as pure archive. Here you will find not only the work and art from folks who sell whips, but also from folks, who create their whips out of pure passion. And we have an additional gallery. It is called "The Gallery - Making of".

Thanks, Ron- Steer whip has a fiberglass handle, which is lighter, no transition knot for a sleek look, handcut wood grip. Lighter in the handle which makes it quite nose heavy. Not a fully loaded Bull, thus a Steer...yessir I will take a pic of the binding if photobucket will cooperate :)

Mr. Johnny, thank you sir. Yes I use a twisted taper for core and ends of all my bellies.

Miss Bobbi thank you. That's the 550 chocolate brown from Whip Nation.

It looks great Rachel! Do you ever get problems with the twisted taper printing through the next layer?

Thank you Tyler. Yessir if you don't pack and stack as Miss Bobbi says, it will at a 5 TT. A 4 strand Twisted Taper, well bound, will not.
If it's packed and stacked it will roll out.

When you say pack and stack are you referring to bolstering and binding?

No sir, I'm referring to plaiting thickly-as in not dropping as quickly as "normal" and packing/stacking plaiting. There are better descriptions by Miss Bobbi in other parts of the Forum.

I don't use any bolsters of any kind at this time except for sinker cord on some bullwhips. Everything else is nylon paracord and artificial sinew. I do use staging (mason line) to build knot foundations or diameter of handles if needed.

My first reaction: "Is that a... BULL?!"

Nevertheless, I was not disappointed :D

I've never seen a steer whip, this will be interesting = )

Thanks for sharing!

Found out my favorite whip has a fibeglass handle, looks like I'm quite partial to nose heavy. Lovely work, cant wait to see it finished

Is it a rod or tube of fiberglass?, do you shape the transition end?

Thanks, Erik :D

Miss Bobbi it's soft on the hands. I love it for bellies and cores. I can get a much tighter and more even TT with it.

Mr. Robert thank you, sir. It will be black and silver. I know I enjoy build photos too :)

Charlie thank you, yessir it is a 3/8" solid rod with a slightly shaped and tapered end.
