Great work! I've noticed that porous woods like oak or walnut tend to get spongy once they hit a certain thinness. You and Roy have got me thinking a lot about cow... 'persuasion' and how it affects wood choice and handle design.

I think the differences are similar to a bullwhip you might use for fun versus an actual target whip- they both can be well made to roll out straight, but there's even more consideration on accuracy with the target whip, especially.

Nice! Hit the thong with a hair dryer and then use an old t shirt to wipe down the thong. Will clean that right up.

Thanks Ron and Grant, yes it's acid dark brown from Whip Nation, the handle stock is from WN, too. It is quality stock, really nice to work with! The cord does appear black in photos with my phone...!

I like the acid dark brown with Goncalo Alves as well, I think it allows the deeper tones of the wood to show well.

Crikey Rachel, that's a pretty whip.
Yes the acid brown is showing darker on the phone and maybe because it's been waxed, but regardless, that's a good looking whip.
Looks quite elegant. Well done.
