Woody Stockwhip

An incredibly functional looking whip. My preference of colors run toward the browns and blacks as to me it's closer to what you could expect to see in leathers as well. And yes, I know that leathers actually come in a full rainbow spectrum these days. I just like the natural tones. Nice choice and use of colors on this Devin. The whole thing looks very workable indeed.

Thanks Johnathan, I think I'll use the concept again, even just doing the thong I improved in technique.
Thank you Enoch!
Robby I started shortly after getting into tying turksheads and shortly before joining the forum, and my first whip was a 8 foot bullwhip. In total if I'm not forgetting any, I have made 8 rod style bullwhips, 10 woody style ones, 3 stockwhip thongs and 2 stocks. So 21 whips in total.

Devin, lord knows I love ya like a fat kid loves cake but you and the math don't appear to get along. 8 rod styles, 10 woodies, 3 stockwhip thongs and 2 stockwhips is 23 whips in total sir, not 21. Unless I misunderstood something in the way you lined that all out. I will say that you tend to put a lot of thought into each whip you plait and at 21 or 23 done so far you've entered the 'professional' realm of plaiting. There is no reason a whip plaited by Devin Bauer would not, could not demand the asking price of any other pro out there.

Terry I really appreciate that. Robert is right on the count although now that I think of it, there were three stocks so I had three complete stockwhips, but I was counting thongs rather than handles.
Tree, as far as I can tell it cracks well and is getting better as I get used to it. I haven't tried targeting with it yet so we'll see how that goes.
