  Martial Whips - The Nagaika

Post by Giovanni Celeste »

Hi There,
here a new whip made for customer for a martial sport.
The name of this model is Nagaika.
Hi hope you like it.
here some info about this whip
Regards
Gio
The Nagyka, nagaika, or nagayka is a short, thick whip with round cross-section used by Cossacks of Russia, borrowed from Nogai people, hence the original name "nogaika". It was also used as a weapon in combat when other weapons were not available or as a left hand weapon with sabre.

Thank you for your attention, there is no lead at the end of the whip.
The lead is only present in internal shotbag.
The foundation of the knot at the end of the whip was made with waxed thread tightly wrapped around the thong.

Cool! I've seen those before and always wanted to try one out. How long did you do this one Giovanni? Would you hold this by the turk's head or by the handle? It looks great.

Hi Tyler,
i'm glad you like it, i make this in about two days.
basically you will use the nagaika holding the handle but I think that a true martial artist will make nagaika dangerous in any way holding it!!!!
here a intersting link:
Thanks again

Hi Giovanni, let me rephrase that: What I meant was, how long is the whip? It looks perhaps three feet? Thanks for the link!

Ths looks extremely interesting. Since I'm practising old-style sabre-fencing, that kind of whip might be interesting to check it out in practice.
