The "Making of" Gallery - Rachel McCollough

This new Gallery replaces the former "Masters Gallery", which will work from now on as pure archive. Here you will find not only the work and art from folks who sell whips, but also from folks, who create their whips out of pure passion. And we have an additional gallery. It is called "The Gallery - Making of".

It's looking really good Rachel.
I'm hoping that plaiting can place your mind in a "peaceful me space" that everyone needs, especially first responders who have the stress of the job every shift whether it's a busy one or not.

Thanks, Ron, it helps! While I’m out this evening a little too mixed for plaiting, I still accomplished something necessary for whips:
I made a fid. It has a duck bill shape for the tip, not sharp. The handle is bocoté shaped with a rasp and then finished with Tung oil and Alfie Shine, a paste wax that is a wonder.

Well done, Rachel. It looks like it fits your hand perfectly. It's beautiful and functional. What more could one ask for?
I'll give it a try, Dad, but it's going to be really hard...kind of like trying to saw something in half using a banana.

Almost finished with this one, next in the same group of whips is a set of three. The handles and overlays all for the four (including the one shown) are being built at the same time both in plaiting and in the shop with the handles.
