Third belly plaited.
Here is the drop to the handle. I think the overlay will be 14-18 plat but handle will be 12plat. This should produce nice step between the transition and handle. I have something in my mind for that.

I took it out of the vise, gave it first roll and tested it. I tryed to do this as honestly i could but with waxed thread the handle was a bit slippery. It went quite well keeping in mind that it is really fresh and the strands are yet to be binded to the core.
This whip, until this point at least, is one of the most uniform whip i have produced and by this i mean the difference between the back and frontside.
That is looking really good Jyri.
I'm not understanding the long strands at the end of the handle though.
It seems like a waste of cord. Perhaps you could explain it.
Is that orange thing by your hand in the second picture a staple?
Nice job on the roll out.
This is going to be a really good whip.
Ron
It's ok if you disagree with me.
I can't force you to be right.
Thanks Ron!
That orange thing is waxed thread wich got stuck in the plaiting from second belly.
When i plait i think it is better to have some ecsess cord than not enough.
I have played between doubling the lenght and going 1,5 times the lenght i'm going to plait but i have yet to find right way.
I leave them like that so when i finish the next layer i can plait over those those strands beyond the handle so its easier to finish neatly without the need to cut the handle.
So i got overlay done when i was in nightshift buuut..
There is a slight twist in it and some minor gapping. I have not rolled it wich could make that go away but then it would be harder to replait it.
I'm going to play it safe and take quite a bit apart and plait it again and add 2 strands to it.
It is possible that i have to take it all apart but i want to make this a good one.
Thank you!
Georg, if some whipmaker is lucky enough to win this and have some pointers for me it is easier to find possible mistakes this way
I ordered some battlecord for future project and i am going to use some of that for next builds core. Same as this one but with 2 more layers on the core.
