  Fool's Gold

Post by Mark Elliott »

Here's an (almost) 9-foot nylon cow whip in black and gold with a 12-inch African Blackwood handle. It has a shot-loaded core, 2 plaited bellies, and a 16 plait overlay. the 25-inch fall is weighted, and the cracker is made from B55 nylon. The whip is waxed. This is the first whip of 2021 and the first one I've completed since the end of November because of issues with my hands and wrists, the holidays, and family matters. That's the longest I gone without finishing a whip since I started doing this. BTW, this is whip #66

That sure is a beaut, Mark.
Of course, I expect no less from you, and I am never disappointed.

Magnificent work, Mark! I've always liked black and yellow, and in flight, that thong should show up in a most exciting way. It's even more attractive to me when you tell us it's shot loaded, with a weighted fall. This is one serious whip! :)

Mark, that's top notch work - fantastic job!
Black and yellow is a colour combination that I like a lot and the African Blackwood handle looks very elegant.

Thank you, Ben and Ross.

I posted the whip for sale yesterday evening and shipped it out to its new home this morning. Fastest sale I've ever made.

Mark, that's fast, but looking at your whips, I'm not surprised that they are selling like hot cakes :)
