Here's my latest creation an 8ft 16 plait Zorro inspired whip, this one is slimmer and lighter than my Indy style whips.

Ross, very good job, that whip looks very elegant.
How do you like the performance compared to your heavier Indy-whips?

Ben I gave it a little test crack today, I find I have to flick my wrist a little bit more to get the crack but that's more about getting used to a lighter whip I think, flows and rolls out beautifully tho :)

Here is the whip I've made for my daughter Aaliyah's 18th, she's a big Harry Potter fan so I've made it in the colours of his school house Gryffindor.
It's 7ft 16 plait with a 10" Steel handle and a twisted tapered core, two plaited bellies and waxed.

Ross, this is really nice.
Straight seams, neat plaiting, excellent fall hitch. I love the "A" in the heel.
Nicely done.
How does it crack?

Ron

That is a really lovely whip! It has a very nice taper, and the plaiting is sweet!

Ron I have a box full of these letters that I found on ebay, I'll be sad when I start to run out as I still can't seem to find the original manufacturer :/

Wow.. a Gryffindor whip :)

I has tried to persuade my daughter to learn two crack a whip, but she refuses.

She reads classical archaeology and I've told her that the biggest hurdle to experiencing the same things as Indiana Jones is that she can't handle a whip.

Maybe a Gryffindor whip can make a difference to an big Harry Potter fan
Today is a good day

I quite agree every archaeologist should be able to handle a Whip! :D

At least if Aaliyah doesn't take to the whip she will always keep it with her Harry Potter collection :)
