Ross, this looks very good indeed!

And don't worry: a real craftsman is always his own fiercest critic! :)

It will be interesting to see if the dye gradually washes out while using this whip in wet weather....

Robert thank you :) thankfully its an oil based dye diluted with spirit and after dying I washed the cord thoroughly with soapy water then rinsed it all and let it dry before plaiting, that and being sealed in wax makes me pretty confident that the colour will hold :)
