The "Making of" Gallery - Rachel McCollough

This new Gallery replaces the former "Masters Gallery", which will work from now on as pure archive. Here you will find not only the work and art from folks who sell whips, but also from folks, who create their whips out of pure passion. And we have an additional gallery. It is called "The Gallery - Making of".

Finally almost finished with what I consider some very important whips, as my client has been super patient.
This is a six foot Amper Style Elite built a little slimmer that makes a set with a 10 footer that goes to Germany.
I have replaited this three times. But, third time is the charm, right? I hope so.

Here’s a picture of my other job when it is almost time to clock out, ready to go home and get a nap before making whips:

Funny how paramedics main objective when they get off it to go home and get a nap!

That would surely be my main priority.... sleep.... and love on the pups.
They would go a long way to heal me from the job reality.

Looking impressive Rachel.
I like how you change the pattern on the thong.

It's so straight... The green eyed monster is rearing it's head, haha.

Amazing job as always, and I love those patterns, especially how smoothly you transition in and out of them.

The first of a series I’ve made, #001 of a Wolf Creek Whips wood handled American style heavy type unloaded bullwhip. Featuring a single plaited belly with two bolsters and twisted taper core, overlay is 14 plait. A few fancy patterns throughout, with stair step on the handle. Length 6’ 3”, handle is Bloodwood 5”, epoxied insert of 1/4” spring steel, total handle length, a little longer than most American style bull whips, to transition is 10.5”. An 8 plait fall hitch. A quite nose heavy whip that cracks nicely. Color is saddle tan. 100% kangaroo hide inside out.

What a beauty, Rachel.
I really like the contrasting colors in the transition knot.

Rachel, this is a fantastic whip, for sure. I really like the way you did the handle. Saddle tan is one of my favorite leather colors.

6' 8" 18 plait nylon cow whip in Rust with two plaited bellies and Twisted Taper core, waxed. This whip is quite nose heavy, and good length for ground/penwork. Handle is hand shaped as always, standard size, from Leopardwood.
