That's looking really good Mark.
It should be light and fast.
Nicely done.

Beautiful! Well done!!! I can't wait to hear how it cracks!!!!
I love the gold after wax. It looks like a light leather.

Thanks Ron, and Jesse. I can't wait to get the handle made.

Rachel, a natural leather was the color I was going for. Looks a little greener in the photos than it turned out.

I tied a cracker on it and tried a few easy underhand Dick's in the hallway like it was a snake whip. Cracked easily and seemed to move nicely. Be able to tell more when the handle is made.

Mark, Looking great! Just make sure that the keeper on the handle just barely accommodates the diameter of the thong. Otherwise, if you make it too big you will have a limp joint. If you look closely at the keeper on my first stockwhip you'll see that, after the knot made by the two loops, there is extra flat braid.

Thank's, Ethan. I'll watch for that. I made a stock whip earlier this year and got it pretty close to right. I've also got the whip Rachel made and gave been studying it closely. Also have watched Bernie's stock whip videos several times.

Very good, Mark! The gold does indeed look much better (so think I) after waxing.

That has darkened quite a long way, Mark. Still looks the job though. I love the preciseness of the two nested loops at the keeper. They almost look like an engineered piece.

I can't believe how much that darkened after waxing, Mark. It looks great!
I'll give it a try, Dad, but it's going to be really hard...kind of like trying to saw something in half using a banana.

Thanks everyone, Yes it did darken a lot, but I think it helped achieve the look I wanted.

Sir Roger, I was pleased with how the keeper turned out. I'm really excited to start work on the handle later this week. The only other stock whip I've done had a full plait on the handle and this one will be a half plait on Goncalo Alves using the same gold cord. A little apprehensive about waxing the handle, though.

Brandon, it's actually chocolate brown and is the end of the belly. I thought about cutting it off before the fall hitch but was afraid that their would be too much of a drop off right at the end of the whip.
