I got out yesterday to practice for a while. I was concentrating on form and limbering up my shoulder. All in all, it was a pretty good practice session, although it was cut short by thunderstorms. I did find it kind of neat to watch the wind gusts blow the loop to the side as it traveled down the thong, however.
I'll give it a try, Dad, but it's going to be really hard...kind of like trying to saw something in half using a banana.

OKay, so here's the thing. Yesterday I was smacking myself up pretty good. Partly, I think, because the wind was blowing pretty hard, but today I think I figured out a trick. When you normally underhand flick, you keep it at an even plane directly at your side. During this exercise, kind of flick it directly in front of you. As the thong comes up, grab it with your other hand and bring it down. you have less inches to move it from side to side, which I think kind of screws up the cracking plane and makes the thong want to wrap up on your arm as you bring it down into the cattleman's crack. I don't think it's exactly wrong, but with the wind still blowing it helped.
Due to rising costs, dirty deeds are no longer done dirt cheap.

I will start by apologizing foe the very poor quality of the video.
I'm actually ashamed to show this to you guys, but unfortunately I'm already far behind with practicing and really wanted to share something.
Also, my mobile-tripod holder is destroyed and I haven't bought a new one yet.
Anyway, the end of todays practice. There still a long road to go. Thank god it's a fun road.

Jessie, thank you for sharing that trick!
Sven, your practice looks very good!
You seem to have gotten the hang of the right moment for the swivel (your session looks very fluid) - good job!
So far I've only been practicing this exercise with a mini bullwhip while beeing seated on a chair My appartment doesn't have high ceilings, therfore I can only practice while sitting down. I'm not used to using smaller bullwhips nore have I ever tryed to crack a whip while beeing seated, but it's better than not practicing at all.
All the best

Ben, you are doing the best you can with the limits imposed on you at this time.
I imagine practicing while sitting down is a good thing. It helps with not relying on your body movements to complete a crack, focusing on your arms only.

It's ok if you disagree with me.
I can't force you to be right.
