This is the Gallery of "Sui Generis Whips" - Jessie Edwards

This new Gallery replaces the former "Masters Gallery", which will work from now on as pure archive. Here you will find not only the work and art from folks who sell whips, but also from folks, who create their whips out of pure passion. And we have an additional gallery. It is called "The Gallery - Making of".

Robby, I concur with you.
It's about time to showcase Jessie and her unique and artistic whips and the handles she makes for them.
No one makes handles this special.

Thank you, Robby, for giving me a place with the cool kids, and to everyone, for encouraging me to do it. Without you guys I would have never felt good enough to try. :)

I'm learning, hoping to get better every day. I guess, if my new year had a resolution, being able to say I was a real whipmaker would be it. I only have a few whips that I have made, so until I get a few more finished, these are my first...

Thank you, Robby.

Populus is beautiful.

How is it to hold that handle and crack it?
How do you arrive at a name?

Robby helped me with that too. Each name is very a very simple explanation of the handle translated into Latin. I had suggested wanting my whip brand name being Sui Generis. Latin for "something unique" or "of it's own kind" Robby came up with the idea of carrying that theme to each whip. Popolus means willow, etc. I think it was a cool idea.

Oh, and the handle isn't that much different than a straight one. It isn't much of a target whip, but just cracking is fine.

Wow, very very pretty, Jessie! Every one of those whips would be a beauty to hold :D

I like the latin names, an coincidentally something I've been tooling around in my head lately!

Definitely keep it up!

Jessie, this is fantastic! Well done! And thank you, Robby, for giving Jessie this window to show us her work!

I find Populus especially appealing: it looks like something a Viking might carry - and at the very least, deserves to be used on a film set! (That assumes, of course, that the camera could focus enough on the handle to show how distinctive it is.)

AND - I can reveal that I am now the proud owner of Feather! Due to Christmas, and the weather, I haven't yet put it through its paces properly, but look forward to doing so at an early opportunity. It is a fine whip! :)

Yup, Populus is great. I haven't seen that one before. I'm really liking the 'alternative' handle. Looking forward to the review.
