GODDAMNIT my first typo on this forum and it had to be "Pikachu shits". Nevertheless, please don't edit it, it's too funny XD
Thanks for the advice and words of wisdom funny enough, those nooks are exactly where the passes end and go back. In other words, I need to taper stiffness within each pass as well, which is an interesting task in itself. Generally this fixes itself out very well in the second belly, but this is definitely noted for future reference

Give a man a fire and he's warm for the day. But set fire to him and he's warm for the rest of his life.

Hey everyone! So new update (finally) XD
Second belly begins! (I dunno why there was a lens flare)
My method of plaiting now is to actually move the vice up on my table the further you go on the whip, so I can check on the entire whip as I plait
Second belly plaited and rolled~
After binding - transition sticks up much better :P
Annndd now to plait the overlay~ I won't be showing that til after Morten gets the whip, so this'll be the last update for a while ^_^

Thank you Craig! Unfortunately it isn't, I do not possess the artistic ability to such a piece of artwork! :P
So, after much procrastination, I have completed the whip! I'm somewhat proud of the heel knot, but I can't show you all! :O Must...resist...temptation to show you until Morten gets it!
Either way, it's going in the wax tomorrow, and then I'll send it off sometime soon

Today is a good day. It started out as a typical monday, one of those that could be left out of the calendar without me beering sorry. And then things changed - the mail arrived.
Brandons whip had made it to my village - at last. Brandon has been asking for some time, worried about his reputation, and i had to calm him down and explain that the danish costums can be a bit time consuming.
Had to wait until end of workday to test i - but here are my first cracks.

Its a very interesting thing to get another mans whip in your hand. So far ive only used my own and there is a distinct difference.
- The plaiting, Brandon is making it far more fancy than ive ever managed.
- A 3D printed concho with my name in it - Thx buddy
- A shorter transition than i normally make.
- English eye - got to learn how to do that
I have a whip with my name on it
Nice colors and fancy pattern
Plaiting is ok straight
Handle is goodlookning - a few small gaps between some strands - but only found because i look for them
Nice knotwork - one small thing is the ends sticking a mm out - again only noticed by geeks
There are a few bulges and visible signs of strands being added
Roling - as you might see on some of the pics - the strands are stacking up a bit. I dont know if its to avoid any gaping. There certainly are no gapes on the thong. But the sureface of the whip is also a little less smooth than my own. I tried to roll it a bit with a 10 cm wide wooded block, and could flatten it a little more
Now after pointing out all the "bad stuff" i have to say the whip is well balanced, the roll out test shows only a slight turn to the left at the very end of the thong - which will disappear after some use.
The work done on it is satisfactory and i am glad i got a new whip and a chance to improve my own builds base on this experience.
Again Thank you Brandon

When the swap works - its a good thing.
I got to talk a lot more to Brandon in the process, and it is a very good thing to get another whip in your hand. It really helps me to identify what is good and bad on my own work - what should be kept and what should be improved.
I am on for the next swap :-)

Ha!!!! Oh that's good! I see someone putting a USB port in the heel knot in the future. That's funny!Ron May wrote:Morten, have you looked for the USB port in the heel?
Sometimes it's hard to find but you can upload Robby's Whip Basic videos there and it automatically programs the whip for all cracks and combinations.
