  Whip #3

Post by Ron May »

Whip number 3 is mostly done.
Just needs the heel finished and waxing.
The end is done in a fall loop so falls can be changed when ever desired.
I like the way Tyler can change falls on his whips using the English Eye, and wanted something
similar. I used this ending on Blue Lightening and liked it a lot so I added it to this snake whip.

It's a 4' foot 2 belly 16 plait Snake whip which was made for a friend out of left over cord from W2.
All that is needed to finish the whip is the knob I ordered from Roy's Whip Nation.
It's going to be a concalco alves knob.

I forgot to mention that it's shot loaded to 1 1/2' with a tapered twisted core after that.

Ron - very clean looking pattern. I see a slight hinge, but I doubt it will affect the handling. All of mine have at least one hinge towards the end.
If I can't run fast, I'll make slow look impressive.

Well done, Ron! A good taper. As Craig says, a very clean-looking pattern - and I think it will look even better when it's been waxed. That's a neat little eye to attach the fall and cracker. Altogether nice! :)

@ Ron May:

Great Job - I am sure your friend is going to love her new whip !!!
I realy like the "english eye" fall hitch that you have put on this whip (and on the "Blue Lightning" whip) and your plaiting looks very good as well !!!

Thank you very much for sharing !!!

All the best

I don't use the word gorgeous much but that's what this knob is.

There will be more photos after I have installed it.

I don't get to say "nice knob" often, but when I do....I raise my eyebrows and wink suggestively.
