Pokkis, yes you're right, it goes to a fellow! I'm glad to know ************ might not mind getting a longish whip.

I was getting paranoid about a few (small) gaps I saw but they rolled out for the most part. Don't want to speak prematurely but this whip rolled out better than any of my others.
My last couple 16 plaits I made were "okay" but I had moved more weight forward- it seemed to make them hit higher, but still consistent. Loop collapse? I don't know but I was really unhappy about it. So I went back to the drawing board, started moving back to what was working before. This is an altered version of those that were working better before. Sooo... We shall see. I'm going to warm up the wax pot and dip this 9 footer... Well 9 ish.

Waxed, put the thong in our test handle, and it passed inspection:

Roy, you are right, what else could I ask for. It works . After the last couple I made that's an improvement! They were ok but "clunky" not fluid like they should be.
After I get my work done I'm off to work on the handle.

I debated about when to post photos but I reckon it really doesn't matter as its still a surprise who the whip is headed to, well, other than myself and Pokkis...
It's far from perfect, the gray cord is a little different than the blue and I was a little concerned with that.
But, it was the best I could do, and I learned a lot.
So here's the whip.
9 ft. 14 plait 2 bellies twisted taper core. Charcoal gray, black, and electric blue with a 16" fall and 10.5" Dyneema cracker. My intention was a hybrid between a heavy whip versus a light whip- so it is a bit lighter toward the tip than most any 16 plait I make. I also added a little bit more binding a little further out for a touch more responsiveness (at least that was what I was attempting to do!). Somewhere between a cow whip and a bull whip?


Handle is 14 3/4 inch long hand cut cherry.
