Hi Everybody,
I am very honored and happy to be invited to this gallery.
I would like to thank Robert Amper for this opportunity.
Thanks Robert for this opportunity!!!!
Here my personal whip made during the last christmas holiday.
The design of this whip was inspired by the whip used by Vincent Price (as Baka, the whip-wielding master builder in The Ten Commandments - Cecil B. DeMille 1956).
there are two differences:
the originally whip was braided woven in 16plt harringbone pattern and has a handle worked in aluminum or silver (which is really the material of the handle I do not know).
The body of my whip is 7ft long and totaly plaited in 16 plt roo but braided in under two and over two pattern (also known as eigth seam braid).
The handle was painted in silver and there are 5 spanish ring knot like ornamental.
The end of the thong was closed in the way called snake hitch.
This whip has been a really long and tiring work.
I hope you like it
thanks
Gio

Very Nice I like the ring Knots on the handle But in my opinion I don't think I would have painted the handle but otherwise Good job.

That is a lot of very fine paliting there. Long and tiring work indeed. Great Job!

Just can't go wrong with combining silver and black. Very cool indeed, if I had the money I would order me one of those right now.

Also extra bonus for Vincent Price :)

Awesome whip Gio! It looks like, if you were driving a chariot, you could flick a fly off your lead horse's ear without breaking his stride :)

Nice work Gio,
* seam plaiting is quite a mission, but worth it in the end. That's a good looking whip.

I really like the ring knots on the handle like that. I can't think of any time I've seen that before. Very nice whip.

Hy Guys i'm very very very happy you like this work.
braiding the whole thong of this whip (especially after the half length of the body) in this kind of pattern has been very long that I was engaged me for many hours.
I'm still not sure whether to sell this new style of whip ... honesty I'm still mentally fatigued from this work :-)
By the way, the color of the thong is dark brown and not black.
Here a pics where you can see that the overlay seems to be braided in 16 plt harringbone pattern.
Thanks again
Gio

Very impressive as always.
You definitely captured the essence of the whip from the movie.

Wonderful whips Gio. They look like they would roll out all by themselves. On the Ten Commandments whip- Vincent Price is my favorite actor so you get extra cool points for that :)
