It doesn't seem to shift or slide much, and for the way it curls, it's like a whip- stiffer at the loop, and most flexible when you get past the paracord layers. Not to the same extent as a whip, of course.

Yes, that what I envisaged happening. Just a natural extension on the thong's progressive taper. Interesting.

I just now read through this, and it looks delightfully simple. I have a feeling that the tapering stiffness will do much good in addition to the tapering mass.

Now I'm thinking could it be possible to put all the staggered layers inside the fall? That would solve the problem with the cut ends fraying with use. It might be more than a bit difficult to do, but if you used Dacron as the outer layer, it just might be possible. It's surprising how much stuff you can fit through it.

Very nice, keep us updated on how it works in the long run :)

Pokkis, we seem to think alike :) I would have posted this years ago if I could have found a way to get them inside. I tried and tried, and this is what I finally settled on when the 10 watt bulb over my head went off and said "would it work thst way?

I may have an idea, I'll let you know first if I get it to work.

Hi everyone,
I have done a lot of duplicate whips lately, but then again I've never done one of....These!

This was all black and white dacron except for the knots and falls...

Tyler, that looks fabulous! The patterned thong complements the patterned handle perfectly, and the black and white should mean it's highly visible in action. Beautiful! :)

Okay, okay... If you insist, I will take it. Just send it to me and everything is cool...

This is - again - a piece of art. All these patterns and the overall look... Simply georgeous. You raise the bar very high, my friend.
