Craig, do you have some method of avoiding a 'hinge' in the thong where the steel cable ends? (There must be several methods of doing this, but I imagine it's quite important.)

Robert - not yet. I'm worried about that very thing. I tried to smash it together as tightly as I could.

I finally found some free time to bind and bolster the core. I think this whip is going to be a dismal failure. I'm going to finish it anyway to see if there are any aspects of it that I want to try on future whips.

That's all you can do, Craig, but it's the only way for the next one to be better...well wishes!

I found my short comings on my whip were huge learning
lessons that I would not have learned if I had not made them.
Because of that the next whip will be better.

Thank you. I'm trying to use the hockey tape more for shaping. Also, in this on I was able to stop early in the braiding and make a decision to go from four plait to eight plait based on the gaps and angle of the strands. Thank you, Pokkis.

Franken whip on hold so I can make this one for work. My whips are all becoming monstrosities because of all the material I'm putting into the transition in an attempt to make them more stiff.

I do like that plaiting pattern. It's on my list for a future design.
