please read this. Thanks!

.

Hi, and thanks for your interest in the Whip Basics Forum.

For the short period of time this forum exists, we had a lot of members here. And we have a lot of registered members here, who never posted one single word. You know, I don't like the philosopy that says "as many members as possible! No matter if they do something for the community or not!". We have some members here which posted four, five, or six times. But we had some members here with exact 0 on the counter. I deleted them. We had folks here, which checked in nearly every day, but didn't post for one or two month. I deleted them. This is no personal matter, okay? I don't have anything against anyone I deleted. This is no crusade against anyone. It's just the forum's rule. The only rule - contribute.

Don't get me wrong. I'm happy to share what I know and I'm proud that this place became a true knowledge base. But... It always should be a matter of give and take. Sometimes you take, sometimes you give. But some folks only take. Without giving. That's not good. It's not fair. I don't like it.

Again - I didn't create this place to have a great statistic - a lot of members... I created this to share knowledge. To help, to talk, to improve. But this is not a warehouse for free info. You give, you take. Perfect! You take, and take, and take... No way. So I reduced the amount of members drastically. As I said before - this is no personal matter, okay? I don't have anything against anyone I deleted. This is no crusade against anyone. It's just the forum's rule - contribute. If you don't like this simple rule - don't join.

The most categories are closed for guests. So... If you visit this forum as a guest, you won't see very much. If you wanna be part of all that, if you want to learn about all that, if you want the infos - please register and become an active member of the whip basics forum. As far as I'm concerned, I like a forum with 10 active people more than a forum with 3000 members where 75 post and 2925 just read.

Sometimes folks from other countries tell me that their english isn't that good. Greece, France, Denmark, Italy, germany... Hey - I'm from germany myself, and I'm pretty sure that the folks who's first language is english smile when they read my posts. So what? As long as you're able to write the basics like "please" and "thank you", I don't see any problem.

Do You?

So - if you accept all this and want to join our group, you are more than welcome to the Whip Basics Members Lounge smile

IF YOU'RE ALREADY A MEMBER AND CAN'T LOG IN...

...I deleted those members, who visited now and then, but didn't post. As I wrote: participate and contribute. If your account was deleted, and you want to rejoin - no problem. I'm happy for every active member. If you rejoin, and don't post... This place is created to talk, to read, to give and to take. We had some folks here who visited frequently, but didn't post anything or posted the last time some month ago. Well, you already know what I think about that.

If you don't like these rules and you disagree - I won't blame you. I completely understand! But out there are lots of forums which are happy for every member - active or not. The main issue for them is the number of members. Please go there. Here things are a bit different. You take - you give. If you like to join for being a part of this community - you're more than welcome! If you're only looking for a place to read now and then. Sorry... No way.

Thanks, Robby

Re: please read this. Thanks!

One more thing on all that. I've got some requests from former members who couldn't log in. The answer is pretty simple - please read the text above!

I was asked, if it is possible to rejoin. I already wrote that, too smile Yes, you can, no problem. But if you rejoin, and don't contribute, if you're only here to read, to get the infos without contributing to the community, you'll be deleted again. And then you won't rejoin again.

And - no - this is neither my private little wargame, nor is it a crusade against anyone. I said this often enough now, I think. We are a little community. We exist by all the active members who post. Comments, experience, opinions, pictures, tutorials, where to get what links and so on. If you want to be a part of all this - welcome! But we're no library.

So all the best to you
and take care,

Robby
