Re: The "Making of" Gallery - Rachel McCollough

Thank y'all very much.  Mark, I may disagree, but I sure do appreciate it!  Your work is just as fine (or more so) as mine.  A rest in the morming, then I will be at it again.

Thank you Ron!  No sir, that's the first belly.  Next, second belly, then overlay.

Here is the First belly, finished, ready for some binding:

And a little demo video by Garret, the whip belly seems to be in line and moving up to standard.

Re: The "Making of" Gallery - Rachel McCollough

Garret's skills are getting better for sure.
Crackin' a belly and being careful not to over stress the whip too early in the process is not  that easy to do.
It does appear to flow well.
Nice job.

Garret’s got nice form, i’m sure he’s got an amazing teacher.
That whip is looking great Rachel and it sure moves very well. Your twisted tapers always look so perfect, they really are a treat to inspect. Is it easier to twist hide compared to nylon?

Re: The "Making of" Gallery - Rachel McCollough

Thank you Nathan, the hide is easier in that you need to not twist it so tight.  The key to the nylon TT in my humble opinion is the tightness and lack of hinges.

Garret has been well taught by his dad and Robby's videos, Whip Basics: A Beginner's Guide, Vol. I-V.  He is still learning, of course, but he had the best start possible!  Me, I have a lot of practice to do wink

Every time I see one of your roo whips coming to life, I start thinking about our next project...
