Re: The "Making of" Gallery - Jessie Edwards

Jessie, that looks great. I especially like the red knots.  Perhaps it's the lighting or the wax, but they seem to have a certain vibrance to them that appeals to me.  Well done!

Beatiful Jessie! Those red knots really blend in nicely!

Re: The "Making of" Gallery - Jessie Edwards

Very nice Jessie! I like how you evenly spaced the sections of checkerboard plait.

Jessie, that peacock inlay is, to use a technical term, freaking gorgeous!  I love the pirate whip too, but the peacock is really spectacular smile

Re: The "Making of" Gallery - Jessie Edwards

I started this little project a year ago, brought my prototype with me to Germany with limited result.  Mainly, it looked crappy.  I wanted to get the new one done once and for all.  From core to knots, the whip is entirely made from 275 core.  It is lightly loaded exactly the same as my practical whips, the only 550 cord is the fall.  275 is just too tiny to try to double up.  I have my thoughts on using 275, but I really cant say too much until I can crack it in the heat, which, as you can see, still does not exist in Northwest Wisconsin.

That look marvelous.
Very nice job.
What was the final overlay plait count?

Ron

I sent that 'Ancestry' site some information on my family tree.
They sent me back a pack of seeds and suggested that I just start over.

Well, warm weather come on!!!  WS, this is fantastic.  You should be very, very proud.  It really looks excellent.  You are getting better with every whip, and you definitely have your own clear wonderfully beautiful style.

Inch by inch.

Re: The "Making of" Gallery - Jessie Edwards

Very nice, Jessie. I don't think I'd have the patience for that small of a cord. I love the colors and the plaiting looks great. Excellent job.

Re: The "Making of" Gallery - Jessie Edwards

I love how the little cord makes those knots look.  As always, nice work Jessie!

Beatiful Jessie!
How about micro or nano cord next? wink

Re: The "Making of" Gallery - Jessie Edwards

Spectacular work, Jessie! I imagin the smaller cord and higher plait count will make it flow like butter - once you get rid if that snow!

Re: The "Making of" Gallery - Jessie Edwards

I did not know that I love that color combination until I saw it. Wood, gold, black and blue. And all those details...! You made good looking and really working whips with a whole lot of artistic facettes. But this one is - at least for me - the peak. In terms of design, colors and pattern you set a new standard, Jessie. By the way - I like your new avatar picture!

Oh my goodness Jessie, that is the most beautiful whip I have ever seen. The plaiting looks perfect. You went above and beyond on that build. A big congrats to you
