Re: Our first 20 days: Lesson 1 = 06/11/2017 to 07/01/2017
Thanks for posting Flemming. You're doing well. I can see by it that you are trying hard to get it right which is great. I'm sure with more practice you will soon be more fluid

Flemming, you are doing good - thumbs up!
I've noticed that on the second crack of the fast figure 8 crack, you are moving the handle off the plane.
It still works, but if you keep the handle on the same plane as the circus crack, it will be a way more comfortable and easier (more efforless) to do this crack.
I'm also still struggeling with this when doing the fast figure 8, and what helps me a lot is to practice the fast figure 8 with the stick of death in front of a mirror.
All the best
Ben
Thanks Ben. When you say so you are right, but I don't know what I am doing wrong. As I saw it in the WB vol II it should be compared to open af book - and opening a book is out of the plane.
I'm grateful for your comment. Comments are motivating . I will go to the WB shorts and look for FF8. Then I will try to adjust tomorrow.
You're right Flemming, I encountered that reality too and tried using the swiveling handle method to eliminate that, however too much of that at the wrong time and the thong goes limp and all over the place, particularly with my 8 foot whip.
The FF8 is still evolving for me. Right now I've gone back to the open book method of Robby's. It's much nicer looking but have to sort out this plane business.
Flemming, try the fast figure 8 standing next to a wall.
The plane of the wall represents the plane that the thong should travel, vertical.
I think this was introduced here by Mr. Robert as told to him by Robby.
Ron
That's good advice Ron, I forgot about that
I have watched the video for the 10/10 , but still dont get it. maybe because I dont understand the wall plane compared to the book - plane from the video. Have to find some more videos
Sorry, saw some more videos. Now I got the meaning . Thanks
I was trying to make the FF8 as vertical as I could with the natural curve of the whip and straying from the original teachings but I think I will go by the numbers from now on
Good idea, Russell...
Robby
Thanks Robby lol sorry about that
I am struggling with the exchange.
If I wait a fraction of a second it changes all right, but if I do it immediately after the crack it flops behind me and the forward underhand throw wants to nip the back of my calf.
I'm still working on it but it's not progressing as well as I would like.
It will take a lot more time for me.
Ron
Ron, if I may supplement Robby's tutorial with one from April Jennier Choi which I watched quite recently there are a few extra tips on the timing of the exchange, most notably at 2:02. I thought the video was pretty clear on some additional points which with practice may help us perform a better FF8.

Sorry at 0:47
My bad, I posted this in the wrong thread.
It was meant for the underhand two handed exchange.
Sorry.
Ron
oh, no worries
