Topic: One on one whip swap for Erik
I have been kind of flying through this one without taking a lot of pictures, mainly because I had an idea on the last whip and I have been seeing if it works and I have been pleasantly surprised so far. I'll try and take more from now on
I started with a .25" steel rod and filed the end down to accept a core of 5 pieces of paracord forced into each other. The outer layer is the full length of the whip but inner pieces are staggered at 5" from the handle. The rod was drilled for the hook and the cord bound on
The real meat of the idea I had is here at the end of the 4 plait on the bellies. Each strand is pulled into the centre strand. I then bound this to set the strands sitting nicely and to transition the stiffness where the plaiting ends. Seems at the moment to be the best belly I have made so far. This belly was in 8 Strand
Here the latest belly, rolled but not bound in 12 plait and the end finished in the same manner
