8-ft snakewhip, kangaroo hide, 3 bellies around a shot bag core, 16-plait overlay. Heel knot is a 7x6 Turk'shead with a gaucho fan interweave.

It looks like a beauty. Do you bind a "handlearea" or is it the same binding all over ? I am not so familiar with snakewhips.

Yes, Flemming, on a snake whip I bind the first 12 or 18 inches pretty tight around the core and then each bolster and belly gets another binding that ends a few inches shorter than the last so that they don't just suddenly change tension. Bernie has a video that shows it. Even if you don't make whips his videos are very enjoyable to watch.
