  Horse Crop

Post by Ethan Mitchell »

Hey guys,
Thought I'd show an horse crop I made for my sister awhile ago. I tried out a few ideas on it, as you can see.
It is not used for anything other than what it is meant for... horses. Just so you know.

Nicely done Ethan.
What's the core made of?

Thanks!
Ron, it is the fiberglass from an old ice fishing rod. There are small lumps if you look closely, form where the rings (or whatever they are called) were fastened. Thats why I haven't tryed those for whips.

Next time you might try sanding the eyelet bindings off.
That might work.
You can also buy blanks too.

Ron, I suppose I could. Though the eyelets were attached with fiberglass.

Well done, Ethan! I'm sure that your sister is quite pleased with it.
I'll give it a try, Dad, but it's going to be really hard...kind of like trying to saw something in half using a banana.
