Matt, just in case you are unfamiliar with the story:
The Time machine is a tragic tale of veganism wrought with questionable love. A man builds a time machine and hurls himself into the distant future where he meets up with The beautiful Eloi, a vegan herd of cattle people who live eating from beautiful clean white plates, wear bright clean colors and frolic all day near the river. These people are bred and raised by the evil Morlock for food, who live underground, unclothed in a filthy cave, yet intellectual superiors in every way....
Meanwhile, the love story of George and Weena unfurls. The classic tale of the experienced older man, who plainly states that Weena is "but a child" and "I need to talk to a grown up please" at the beginning of the film, only to fall helplessly in love with her and, after a quick stint home to gather up 3 books, goes back to the future to rebuild society with his child bride at his side. Pervert.
Really though, none of this matters as the bottom line is, there is a steampunk time machine and a frequently updated mannequin...and that one lava cave bit was kind of claustrophobic.

Versus the "tragic tale of veganism,"Robby Amper wrote:Pff... It's an epic story about a man, who wants to see what mankind's future will bring. And in that future he discovers terrible things and fights for justice. That is the Time Machine. Ha!
Legend.
Ha!!! No wonder WB is the coolest place around!!!

Just because i point out the blatant irony does not make my description less true. Has anyone else ever noticed that in these classic films, during a touching moment between the leading man and the leading woman, the man is always kind of clutching her face? It's not just a cheek caress, it's more of a gentle prelude to a choke hold. It's possible that love was shown a little differently in the 50's and 60's; however, the only thing I can think is, "Boy, you best get your ape hands off my face."
I just watched a Doug McClure movie, and sure enough, ape hands all over her face and only 12 minutes out from having their ship blown up by a Nazi Uboat.

For class this week, we had to make a movie poster. The rules were that it could not be a superhero or cartoon type movie. We were only allowed 5 colors and Times New Roman or helvetica font. We were not allowed image trace, gradient colors or transparencies...so, all by hand and simple. I'm not sure if mine passes as a movie poster or a flyer for free lunch at Joe's, but this is what I handed in today. Since it was this movie, I thought it might apply here. I had originally wanted a Morlock eye with a clock pupil, but 1960 Morlocks have melty sad eyes...not angry eyes. It wasn't working.
