The "Slow Snap" drill from 4/28/2017 to 5/7/2017

At the request of the members, the 10/10 challenge has its own section now. Every 10 days a new thread will be opened for that particular exercise.

This is truly amazing. I was never able to do the underhand crack, (bare with me, I know I wasn't supposed to) but by doing this exercise today I finally understand how it's done.

I'm very excited. I managed to make the whip crack without it flying back to me. I can't do a video today and I know that tomorrow starts the next execise. But I really want to thank Robby and the other participants.

I don't want to sound egoistic or cocky, I'm just really happy.
I hope y'all are doing well.

Stinking phone.

That's the benefit of these important building blocks, especially for someone like me who is quite uncoordinated.
The individual cracks we try that don't come easy can be learned or re-learned after we practice the building blocks.

Great!

Today's practice is the same as yesterday's.
It's also the last day for this drill.

I wonder what's next?

I did get a chance after all to record the last day for this drill.
For comparison:
Day 1
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rAcCS5 ... e=youtu.be

Day 10
https://youtu.be/zwrHGaIJgj4

I think I need to face my wrist (palm) more toward the forward direction I want to throw.
To me, it looked better on day 1. :)

I have to be honost Ron, but I think day 10 looks better. Because it seems to me the force you use looks more balanced, where in the day 1 it seems you use more force. I hope you understand what I'm saying.

About the hand, I face my palm forward, it's a sort of a bowling motion when you do that. But I don't know if it's wrong or right.

Anyway, to me it looks very good.

I believe you are right about facing the palm forward.
For me it works smoother that way. I just had a mental block and forgot to do that.
This is why video recording your practice sessions are a good tool to show yourself what you are doing.

This is a great exercise! Thanks for all the videos, everyone - and most of all, thanks to Robby for reminding us that practising these elegant, almost meditative, skills with the whip are well worth the trouble. The work of a lifetime! :)

Rachel, thank you very much !!!

Sven, congratulations on your progress !!!
Your post doesn't sound cocky or egoistic to me - getting the hang of a new crack/technique is a fantastic, very uplifting experience and this is the perfect palce to share such an experience !!!

Ron, your progress is evident - great job !!!

You're welcome Robert - thank YOU for your constant observations and your helpful advise !!!

The slow snap excercise has been lots of fun !!!
There is still room for improvement but I'm happy about every little bit progress which I've made so far :)
I haven't been able to shoot a last day video because of the weather conditions in my area (rain combined with string wind).

Happy cracking everyone !!!

All the best
Ben
