Figure 8 combinations 2/14/2017 to 2/24/2017
You are definitely getting better Russel.
Nice extended combination. It might be what Mr. Robert is seeing is the wrist loop sticking out on a couple of overhead throws.
It too looked to me like you were griping the handle, but upon further review it might be that loop I am seeing.
Good Job.

It's ok if you disagree with me.

Thanks Robert, I was aware of what you said, I found it interesting though because since starting to crack and being conscious of holding the knot and not the handle, I have concentrated more on the thong and not how I was holding the whip.Robert Gage wrote:But, as I said, Russell, I can't see exactly what you're doing now!
It does look, though, as if you're clutching it very tightly. Try to relax....
It was good that you brought that up though. It was a good reminder to try and be aware of everything I thought.
I'll remember what you said about how tightly to hold a whip too.
Thank you gentlemen for your continued correspondence and guidance

Thank you for sharing your practice video Mr. Jones and congratulations on your progress !!!
I've noticed that you tend to move the handle of the whip to the 9 o'clock position instead of the 12 o'clock position when you're doing the circus crack.
Today's stormy weather forced me to practice inside my appartment (again ). I can't wait to have an outdoor practice again since I've practiced several new combinations on my stick practice and I want to see if can do those combinations with a whip.
All the best
Ben

In my practice today, I got to play with some wind... yea!
It's coming along but it's far from where I want it to be.
Tomorrow is the last day for this part of the challenge.
The next on Vol. II is "10 cracks in a row" which we will begin on 2/25 and end on 3/6
I will have to review the CD again and see which cracks this might contain.
I will post the results and the new topic and start a new thread for this one.

Today is the final day of the Figure 8 combinations.
I had a lot of fun in the wind again.
Here's the video from day 1.

Here' the video for day 10.

There's some improvement but the rear part of the slow 8 still is not being done right, in my opinion.... among other points as well.
It is indeed a work in progress and will continue in the future for sure.
