Well done Ben!
Jyri, thank you very much !
Here are pictures from one of my recent projects - a 4,5 foot Snakewhip with 4 plaited bellies, English Eye and a 24 plait overlay. Except for the core, it's completely made from Wave Lace:
The whip still needs a little bit of rolling at the tip and the knot needs some tightening.
It the first time, I've made a whip with 4 bellies and the first time, I've made an Eglish Eye with Wave Lace.
The first part of the Wave Lace fall is plaited and it tapers in serveral steps all the way to the tip.
I will post more pictures, once this project is done.
All the best
Splendid work, Ben! This looks fully up to your usual high standard!
Great work Ben.
Ben, this is beautiful!
Thank all of you very much !
It is an interesting whip Ben. How does the fall perform ?
I guess that it is a quite heavy whip with four bellies and only four feet ?
It looks very good
Ben it looks fantastic! Awesome work
Flemming, thank you very much. So far, I was only able to do a few test cracks inside my appartment, but once the whip is done, I will compare the performance of this fall with a regular fall.
Overall the whip isn't very heavy, but the additional belly gives the inner life a good structure/stability which should make the performance more accurate for things like target work.
Ross, thank you very much.
All the best
That looks great, Ben. I envy you being able to work with that small cord. I have tried but just am not dextrous enough.
Mark, thank you very much!
I did plait with even smaler cord (paracord type 1) to make rockslings in advance. This practice probably helped me to get used to wroking with small cord in general.
Jyri, thank's a lot!
Robby's review of Gio's "Snakebull" inspired me to make this type of whip as well. Here are 2 paracord Snakebulls.
Each whip has a 4 inch spring steel handle, a shot loaded core, 2 plaited bellies, a 16 plait overlay ending in a 6 point English Eye. The overall lenght of these whip is 3,5 foot. After the Heel knot ends, there are about 3 inch of handle left and I like the additional control it provides for the action.
One of the whips is made in a Coral Snake pattern with silver grey instead of yellow:
I first thought of using an interwoven 4 bight Herringbone knot, but before tightening it, I changed my mind.
Ben, great job.
I really like the coral snake pattern with the gray instead of the yellow.
It looks very classy.
Ben, I love it!!!
Ron, Rachel, thank both of you very much
Fine work, Ben! I like that heel knot very much!
Thank you very much Robert
I thought about making it with 2 black type 1 paracord interweaves to maintain the Coral Snake patten, but the overall length of the knot would have been just a little fraction longer than I would preffer.
